“Have you not heard? Long ago I ordained it. In days of old I planned it; now I have brought it to pass.” (2 Kings 19:25).

My Musings – The specific context of this verse is the threatened invasion of Judah by Sennacherib king of Assyria, the superpower of that era. “This is what the LORD [said] concerning the [threatened invasion by the] king of Assyria: ‘He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here. He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it. By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city, declares the LORD.” (2 Kings 19:32–33, NIV 1984).

What God ordains, He plans. What God plans, He brings to pass. God has ordained and planned for His Son’s return. We do not know the day or the hour. We do know the signs…
