My Musings – When my son Joel was young, I attended all his school plays and events, concerts and soccer games. I was there for his graduations (High School and college) and every parent’s weekends. People might say, “boy, you really must love going to these things?” No, I don’t. If I did, I would still randomly attend them. Another parent might then say, “which is your child (they’d probably say grandchild)?” To which I would reply, “none of them. I just love going to kindergarten plays.” Afterwards, I’d probably be questioned by the police.
I didn’t go because I loved the events, I went because I love my son. Miscues in plays, sour notes in concerts, kicking the ball into the wrong net. Sitting for a couple…
