The Brew Is A Musing

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Colossians 3:23–24, NIV 1984). 

My Musings – If you’ve read my story (see “Adam’s Life Will Be Full of Toil”) you know that several years ago I worked for a bank that failed during the “Great Recession.”  It was a stressful time, working very long hours, as we tried vainly to save the bank from what ultimately proved inevitable.  The stress was compounded by the fact that I was legally prohibited from telling anyone what was going on.

During this time, on one of my long morning commutes and nearing the time that the regulators finally shut us down, I was reflecting on the futility of our efforts.  Thinking…

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
