Without Grumbling or Disputing

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life. (Philippians 2:14–16, ESV 2016).

My Musings – It is possible to hold fast to the Word of life in the midst of the wicked world without grumbling or disputing. Our job is not to grumble about how the people of the world live their lives, much less enter into disputes with them. We need only to hold fast to and proclaim the truth. It will shine the light on the deeds of darkness. The best way to discredit that which is false, it to steadfastly cling (“hold fast“) to what is true.
