A Friend to Others

In Sycamore, IL, there was a disciple named Eileen (which, when translated, means pleasant or radiant), who was always doing good and being a friend to others. (Adapted from Acts 9:36, NIV 1984).

My Musings – I would like to thank all my WordPress “family” for their kind expressions of sympathy, remembrances, prayers, and support following Eileen’s home going. This was our last family picture at my mom’s 90th birthday in April. Now Eileen is celebrating with those who have gone before. Especially our oldest son Joshua, who died when he was nine.

My Advice – Make the most of each day you have with your loved ones.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
