Already In The World

This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood. (1 John 4:2-3, 5–6, NIV 1984).

My Musings – This spirit has always been in the world. But its influence is getting greater with each passing day. Those who “are from the world” do not see it. But those who “are from God” recognize it for what it is — “the spirit of falsehood.” We have heard from the beginning the antichrist is coming. But guess what? Someone else is coming. The spirit of antichrist may have its way for a while. But the Lion of the Tribe of Judah will overcome him.

My Advice – Do not listen to the “viewpoint of the world.” For this world will pass away. Acknowledge (confess) that Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in the flesh. Listen to Him. Accept Him. Follow Him. You will overcome too.
