The Brew Is A Musing

From “A Wealth of Pigeons,” a cartoon collection by Harry Bliss & Steve Martin

Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Hebrews 9:27–28, NIV 1984).

My Musings – You cannot “out duel” death no matter what you bring to the appointment.  And you cannot escape judgment.  But it does matter what you bring to that appointment.  Your own merits, which can never “take away” or outweigh “the sins” of a lifetime, or the sacrifice of Christ that will “bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.”

My Advice – Bring the “Big Gun” to your judgment.

I was raised in a Christian family and my earliest childhood memories include regular Sunday school and Church attendance as a family. I was taught that our Judeo-Christian values were not just a part of our Sunday routine they should be part of our character and influence all aspects of our lives. I was also taught that as important as these values were they could not save us. We must also be “born again” by accepting Christ.
